Trans oil change in 2005 S600 or 2005 S500
Is the procedure in changing the transmission oil and filter in a 2005 S600 any different than in a 2005 S500 ?
Not doing it myself, just wondering, if not sure, kindly, say so. Thanks.

Not sure on that, but this would be a godo time to check the trans connector, the conductor plate, and the TCU. When the connector leaks, oil travels up the harness into the conductor plate, making shifting weird, and eventually goes into the TCU and kills it too.

I would think so, yes. I believe the '05 S600 has the 5 speed transmission, whereas the S500 got the new 7 speed starting in 2004. The transmissions are different, but as far as the oil change go, I think you'd drain the oil, drop the pan, change the filter, put back on the pan, fill it up. No?

babyman1737: That doesn't change the fluid in the torque converter and valve body......its power flush time.
I got told by my transmission guy that for a diy, remove the rad drain line then start the motor and start adding via the filler tube. Don't forget to cycle through the gears while you are doing this. When it comes out like it goes in flush a few more litres (quarts) and then button it up. You can start by cleaning the pan out, but a lot of the trans. fluid is still in the box valve body etc. I would replace the filters after finishing the flushing action. You have to be careful not to let the transmission empty so its best to add TF at the same rate it is leaving.
