Could it be done with enough time and a whole lot of cubic dollars? probably.
Is it worth it? hell no in my opinion. I've used both, and while its cool that dis+ will stop the car in traffic, it ain't worth the several thousand (and I mean like probably $5k+) to do this.

is there a non active form of distronic?
if so what does is do?
just wondering, since i didnt get the advanced driving package, which has active blindspot, active lane keeping, and distronic "plus"...

like, theres active lane keeping assist, as well as active blind spot assist...
then theres the passive version of those, it just alerts you, but wont take control over the car. ie - move you back in your proper lane ( i was told i will have this passive system even if i didnt order the former options)
then for distronic plus, or whatever causes the car to brake to avoid a head - tail collision; does it also have a non active version of that feature?, so it will just alert you of a crash buts its up to you to brake for yourself

ah, yes. The distronic cars will sound an alert (with the triangles in the instrument cluster) when the closing speed to an approaching object is great and you reach a certain distance.
This happens with the distronic on or off.

I think the main difference between Distronic and Distronic Plus is that Plus will,in certain situations, warn you *and* apply the brakes to avoid an accident wheras Distronic just warns you.
