2001 s 430
This car is driving me crazy
I have a 2001 s430 that i bought about 8 months ago and when i turn the air on the fan makes a loud rrrrrrrrr noise in a hi picth.Took the car to two different macanhic one said nothing wrong with the car the other said the auxillary fan is going out and said it would be $1000+tax to repiace the fan.. The air works find but the rrrrrrr noise drive me crazy somebody help me i'm use to driving a quite car.. Has anyone had this probiem,if so how did you fix it?

My dad was driving my car for a while and he smokes and the ashes got into auxiliary fan and fried it (typical problem with smokers car, that's what dealer service manager told us). Now we have no A/C but when the car is hot the fan is extremely loud for a few minutes and then quiets back down. But i think that's normal because i was at the country club last summer and some guy was bragging about his brand s550 and it was sitting in the sun, he started it up and his fan was just as loud.
