Lightbulb possible mods or nods?

Hello, Ive been doing some thinking and i just want my car to stand out a little from the rest and i wanted the forums opinion on what i was thinking and if you guys felt it would look tacky or not. I haven't ever seen anyone with what im thinking of attempting and the last thing I want is for my car to look like ****. So please if you would just leave your thoughts I would really appreciate what you would think looks good and if you have any other suggestions please feel free to speak your mind. So what your looking at is the chrome trim. Im thinking of having it painted black to match the vehicle. and maybe the clear parts in the taillights smoked as well as the side markers. Im not into the whole chromed out everything look. Id rather be quite modest and black out everything but I feel that would be too sporty for this luxurious vehicle. I don't Know. Maybe im just over thinking. I just love my car. But Ive always liked standing out even if just a little bit from the crowd. So please even if you think its a stupid idea i would love to hear what everyone has to say good or bad. thank you for taking the time to read my post.

My advice, buy a roll or two of electrical tape, and cover the chrome temporarily. If you like the look, do it.

I can appreciate the look you're going for. I don't particularly like it on a luxury car, but if you do, have at it.

~update~ so this is what it would possibly look like. I really like how it puts the focus elsewhere. the trim ages the car im my opinion. not too sure what i feel about the taillights yet. Lets see what everyone else has to say

oh yeah, just realized that. It definitely looks better imo. Did you take it to a shop? did you do it all around? gives the vehicle a bit of a newer look.

Get it vinyl wrapped that way it's easily converted back instead of paint.

*UPDATE* so i just received the vinyl wrap from Don Nguyen and tested a piece of the trim. It was too late to actually finish the whole thing right now but i was so excited to see how its going to look that i had too. I will finish it tomorrow and put up pictures to show everyone how it looks so if anyone else wants to do it they are aware of how it will look.

I had smoked taillights on my CL600 and really liked the look. I may do it to the S600, but only if I get rims. Right now it's stock.

Re trim - another idea I've seen in lieu of vinyl is tint. If you put tint on the chrome it will appear like gunmetal. That may be a sweet look.

opposite-lock...
looks better than I'd thought

your car looks stellar overall - those wheels are gorgeous, bit blingy for me but look amazing on someone else's car

I see you opted against the tail light insets smoked, and went from white front corners to smoked. Smoked front corners looks much better.

are the tail pipes OE or other?

Cool overall effect - could have your tailpipes powder coated if you were looking to mute out more back there. I too tend to prefer the contrast and the elegance effect the brightwork provides but muted can be cool too when done properly.

Just don't go too far or you're Darth Vader 8-)...

Shame no one's savvy enough to replicate the OE window trim hue/application - that stuff is epic.

ps. Ida punched your neighbor in the nutes for running that fence - blech! Keeps his trampolining mutant midget posse on the inside I guess 8-)
