Can someone please check this screw location on their S55 dash?
Hi,
In the attached photo, at the bottom of the dash on both sides close to the doors, where my finger is pointing, I have a screw hole to secure the dash but there is no bracket or anything to screw into. (I think my dash has been apart in the past before I got the car).
Can someone please check their S55 and let me know what kind of screw on each side is used here? In EPC there is no indication that there should be any fasteners at these locations - that I can see.
If you remove your screw here, you should be able to pull the dash back enough to get your finger behind and feel whats behind it and tell me what does that screw fasten to?
Someone? please? - thanks

it's the passenger side of the lower dash. Open the passenger door and it's right there. The vent that is showing is the right hand side of the lower dash, right of the glove box.
My finger is pointing up under the dash in the lower right hand corner. The fastener would screw vertically up into the dash. - thanks

There is an indention for mine but it is covered in the dash material.. there is no bolt there, but I could see where one would go there..

ok thanks for checking. It could well be that there isn't suppose to be one there since it doesn't show in EPC parts diagram either.
Kind of strange though as I can tell my dash would be more solidly connected if it were tightly fastened at both these locations, one at each side.

i have a similar problem, but on drivers side, my dash is sitting
to low (can tell because the the wood trim on the door doesn't line up with the dash(and theres nothing wrong with the door height or door card). i have been trying to figure out how to tighten the dash in a way to raise it
i have seen posts on how to remove the dash but still haven't got it figured out how to tighten it. almost as if its not screwed in
any ideas?
thanks

Jnash, maybe if you pop that cover off where the vent is you might be able to have a better look. That cover houses several fuses for things such as the instrument cluster, cigarette lighters, etc. It just pops off with a small flathead screwdriver. Be careful not to damage the dash.
