Does anyone know if the dimensions in a 99-02 w220 dash where the COMAND goes is the same measurements as a 03-06?

The idea is to use the seperate pieces of the 03-06 to make a double din fitting to go into the 99-02. Ive seen existing kits but they are all cheap plastics and the one I have has cracked. Ive glue metal strips to the reverse side to prevent it from cracking more.

Anyways, if anyone knows it would be much appreciated!

I have an 03 Comand MOPF in my 2000 S430. You have to trim a couple small tabs with a dremel but thats it, it will drop right in.

Nice, do u have any pictures? Does the same apply with the climate control system tab from a 03-06

Anyone know how to fix the on and off muting of the radio...Changed to a aftermarket radio about 1 year now..Radio started muting on and off....

If it's an aftermarket unit, u will need to refer to your manual that came with the unit. Did you loose power to the car? If not, assuming you dont have a code or know the code, you disconnect the power to reset it.

did not loose power...sometimes the radio work okay....most of the time it just keep muting...dont think it is the radio...

its a generic double din...no name brand...comes with tv..gps..dvd..ipod..fully loaded on...thinking that it has something to do with the tele-aid..

Ahh.... well the only real way to deal with it is to test in another car! Without knowing any more info it's really a stab in the dark!
