Steering Wheel Controls

I unplugged the stock radio and now the navi and volume control on my steering wheel does now work. Any solutions out there? Thank you!

You will need to give us more information. What is the model year of your car, and what continent (at least) do you live on? That can affect the answers. Most of us would rather write just one, not three or four.

Sorry - 2002 S500, USA Cerritos, California.

It used to go on, now I can't hear the radio at all and the navigation does not work. Is there a reset code or something?

OK, you have a COMAND unit, not just a radio. COMANDs from '00 until sometime after '07 do not use "radio" codes. Did you plug the COMAND unit back in after unplugging it (all connections tight)? I am assuming you did, and that you have audio from the radio, CDC, and tape player. Just your steering wheel buttons don't work, but you can control volume for those features from the COMAND control buttons.

First, check your fuses. If all are OK, see http://www.mercupgrades.com/Mercedes...rticle-13.html to get into your diagnostic menu to see that your D2B components are waking up, and to perform a system reset. If those don't work, try disconnecting your battery for about 5 minutes, then reconnect it (have your ignition OFF and remove the key when you do this)

If you must disconnect the battery, see post #14 at http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w220...ml#post2216730

I an operating on the assumption that something has disrupted either a device on your fiber optic loop - or, more likely, that something has disrupted the CAN Bus tie-in to your COMAND (this would especially be the case if your COMAND buttons all work, but your steering wheel buttons don't).

I do not have audio from radio or tape. I have no cd changer. I do have fiber optic connections. Thank you.
