Lug nut bolt size for my new to me S500?

I am new here just bought a 2000 S500 a few days ago and it had aftermarket 22" wheels I went to take them off to put on the stock wheels and I realized the lug nut bolt size is different and the stock ones needed a much longer thread length.

I spent about two hours on here looking for the correct sizing which I thought was 14x1.5 but I called my local dealer and they quoted me with a size of 14.5x1.5 as he said there was two different sizes and it goes by the vin number? ( is that because of the different types of stock rims they offered for that year? )

He also said it did not say on the box what the length was

I would like to get these ordered asap and want to make sure I get the right size and length, can anyone help me out with the size and length?

Thanks!

The Dealer is right. Lug bolt length depends on which OE wheels you plan to put on. The best way to measure them is by sticking any bolts that you have thru the wheels off the car and add about 12-15 threats from the back space of the wheels
I hope this will help

They are all 14 but the length and style differs by what rim is used
If you are putting back factory wheels then bolts made for custom wheels won't work

The bolts are metric and 14 stands for 14mm bolt diameter the 1.5mm stands for the thread pitch. What you need are the correct length of the bolts. You need 7,5 turns inside the tapped bolt hole, which is 11.25mm (pitch 1.5mm*7.5) which are sticking out of the wheels. You should not go longer since you may interfere with the parking brake parts on the rear axle.

this happened on the day i installed the brabus 20s with ET45 - after releasing parking brake and driving off, id get a random metronome/tapping sound and goes away at higher mph (30-50)

the rears either spacers or bolts, i chose bolts at the time, quite the new and frantic experience owning a luxury car from a beater lol
