W220 Alarm Problem

W220 Alarm Problem
My 99 S500L alarm has started going off randomly, sometimes it seems to be associated with the trunk being open or closed.
If you lock the car on the key button the alarm will go off after 30 seconds. If you unlock and leave it unlocked it will go off again after 30 seconds. The only way of stopping it is to leave unlocked and flip the hood/bonnet catch leaving it partially open on the safety device.
Any one any ideas?

Does your trunk ever open by itself?
At this point removing the alarm fuses may not help
