Did I Miss the Introduction?

Anyway.Back in the Saddle.
After being personally Benzless since '97, I bit the hook again. Although, since 1976 my wife and I have owned 6 or 7 in a row, this is my latest. A 2003 S600 with 14,000 miles on it. I just drove it home from Houston, Texas to Seattle for over 3500 miles and am now settling in with my new toy. My wifes current car has been a '96, S500 Coupe' we purchased from the dealer in 2008. With 37,000 miles on it and in like new condition. Well, we thought it was until I purchased the S600 on New Years Day. It literally is brand new. Smells like new carpets. New leather. New wood. New plastic. New glass. New chrome. New wire. It is all CarFaxed and is what it is.
It is a pleasure to be among the MBWorld folks and I hope it will be to each others service.

Welcome to the forum! Great folks here. Tons of opinions and thoughts, but that's the way it should. Looking forward to seeing some pics at some point.
Cheers,
Jeff

Wow, awesome car!

If you are interested in an extended warranty, let me know. The S600 owners usually do VERY well with one. And get the car's VMI from a dealer, showing all the times it went to a dealer for service. You'll have to do your services based on time intervals, since the car does not have enough mileage to hit the service mileage intervals.

Meaning, a 9 year old serpentine belt may need to be changed just based on its age, rather than not doing it because the car only has 14K miles.

I just sold a 2005 CL600 with 11K original miles, and it was fantastic too.

Thank you both. I've read a little about recall and warranty work regarding the S600. Time may be running out and I'd like to learn more before the engine grenades one day after all coverage expires.

sweet find - welcome / congrats / ENJOY

def pics

what a score, good for you

I'd 100% slap some coverage on there while it still exists! A 14k mi car can be great, or it can be a nightmare... cars...like...to...RUN!

8-)

looking forward to your contributions, again welcome aboard

Awesome car! Warranty is absolute and necessary. It will pay for itself over time if you drive the car.

Hello, folks. Posted is the 'ol boys' first official photo in Sealy, Texas. I just left Houston about 30 minutes prior and was on the back roads across Texas.

Pretty please.

Thanks, Sarge. I'm a regular poster on forums and just need a little help on this 'first timer'.
