Hi all,

When I got the car almost 2 years ago the trunk was not working because of the latch. Had that replace as well as the trunk shocks. I noticed that when I open the trunk and close the trunk there is a whine. Sometimes it has trouble opening and I have to assist it a bit (same with closing).

Is there a trunk motor? or is everything done through the pump? Does anyone know how I could fix this issue?

Hey doboy. I've got an 02S500 with similar problems that I haven't had time to investigate, but I believe I can locate the lift pump mechanism for you. As I understand it, its right beside your battery in the foam case (trunk). I just lifts out. I had to replace the battery on my car and needed to remove the pump first. I did notice a fair amount of corrosion on the connectors, so I'll start there, again when I get the time.
