I've read about needing to buy the ~ $300 Cartronic interface to play MP3's thru COMAND, just bought their Bluetooth unit for what's her face tho so this isn't happening right yet
short term fix - RF modulator... sound loss, whatever
my question is...
what are you all doing to POWER/CHARGE your MP3 players?
F'm MBZ... STOOPID 12v sockets in ashtrays!!! What a disaster, having to run open intrusive ashtray w/ ginormous plug dongling out in the way of well everything. Don't get me started. Bane of the SEVEN *** MBZ's we've had.
Fokkerz! Least the 2ML's afforded aux plugs in the pass footbox tho.
Can't even use the center/rear one, as, brilliance!... let's hide them in the door ashtrays!
(yeahyeah I know this interior is circa 1999 predating need for 12v acc)

anyone hardwired an MP3 charging cord into something 'hot' in the car?
pleaseplease advise 8-)

ps. any MP3 player / RF modulator suggestions appreciated... I'm a tech caveman, no phancy phone thingy - "iTouch" to me is a pedophile. I'm considering a $110 Sony 16gb unit and whatever modulator Best Buy sells (~ $50)
