hi please can anyone help the starter sound like a tommy gun.it sounds like battery is flat but its new one and i dont think the old one was bad. the volts a battery is 12.40 is have put on another engine earth and i have made good the battery earth in boot is there any point on the red cable from battery to starter that can have a bad connections or does it go stright to the starter from the battery cheers to all bullbozer ps i have looked around on web and poss starter,but the dash light are flicking at the same time as the starter is making the same clicking sound so think is still low volts ie bad connections

 

looks like it was starter relay took top of the relay mark L in fuse box and the relay was doing the same as the stater [raped clicking open and closed]held to points shut at the same time as holding on start and is away,so when to dealer fitted new relay and all good started 3 time [ace] ps thank to all on this site all good post and info
