is there a scheduled maint replacement for all the rubber coolant hoses? or are they designed to go the 15 year/150,000 mile distance on the coolant.

Cobra,

I don't see scheduled replacement for rubber hoses. Kind of lifetime or break/replace stuff. Never saw rubber hoses replaced together with coolant.

Actually oil is the biggest enemy for rubber. That's why Crank Ventilation hoses hardened after years and need to be checked and replaced since those hoses suck oil vapor from crank case to intake. Coolant or water won't eat rubber so I guess your hoses are fine.

Thanks.

Howard

i keep the engine compartment spotless simply wiping it with a damp towel every time i wash the car and using compressed air to blow out debris/dust occasionally. i would never disturb the "virgin coolant" unless i absolutely have to so the hoses will simply be left until the system has to be drained. i have had to many instances where i have changed coolant in a car only to develop a leak soon after. if it isnt broke dont fix it is absolutely true when it comes to replacing coolant.

Sort of. Well many shops that I know of put Bars Leak in with the new coolant. Like AH1W-Cobra said, many times a small leak will develop because it was previously clogged up with crummy coolant junk. I do the same thing with my coolant changes.

It's a piece of cake too, don't even touch the coolant hoses unless they are visibly cracking. There's a little drain plug under the radiator, fill through the coolant tank. Piece of cake. Just make sure you get the correct coolant.
