'05 DVD Nav Q - no street # option, just street!?
My Nav SUCKS compared to my wife's '07 GL... hers is flawless (cumbersome, but flawless).
Mine?
It doesn't even have my street as an option, and when you enter a street destination, there is no option to enter a street #.
WTF? This can't be right.
Bueller?
TIA gentz...
I didn't complain that much.
For my 03 there is even no Quenes Ave,
.I feel very lucky if I can find the street I'm heading. Forget about Street No. that's a luxury,
.TGIF.
Howard
WTF?!?
It's a 200frickin5 car... not 1986. I'm floored that the technology is that poor! Unreal.
What the hell good is it - may as well blurt out "here, here is the general vicinity of the street you are seeking to arrive at - good luck (snickersnicker!)"
Is there upgraded software / disc available!?
thanks for the comiseration though Howard 8-)
and here I was thinking / hoping I was just a dolt (still am, just in many many other regards)

So you want navigation that gets you to the specific address in our car?
Sorry to say, even if it allows you to plug in a specific number, it defaults to an "address range - odd or even numbers" (usually within a block)

Like Howard, I'm happy if it can find the street I'm looking for. Not as bad here in the Chicago area (unless it's a newer subdivision or highway extension), but try driving south of I-80 to Bloomington-Normal or Champaign-Urbana in Central Illinois, populations ~100,000. The Nav recognizes maybe three or four major roads, and that's it. Period. NOTHING as far as "local" streets. (Insert frantic entry into smartphone navigation). My wife claims that the car is sentient snob, doesn't think anything exists down there, and that it see's no reason to that it should ever, ever, be taken outside the big city away from it's comfy cozy garage.

What would be useful is if more cars could work off the ZIP+4 format, that gets you much more specific very quickly and avoids confusion over which town or city a place belongs. If I'm not sure I'll go by county first.
The UK system of postcodes is extremely specific, RG14 1AA for example narrows you down to a very small area, often only a small group of houses. Where I used to live only five houses shared our postcode! Great for navigation but I'm not aware of many companies that allow you to do that, and also because not all houses in the UK have numbers, in the country where we lived it was just names.
The GL uses an MCS variant so it is different hardware, software, and map data compared to the W220.

Well, that sucks - was hoping this was the fix. Ah well...
I just ordered this yesterday. Figure I'd try to stick it in my S600 to see what happens, and if that fails, the E500 (which, despite being a year older, has a MUCH better street view map than the S600 in my opinion).
I'll let you know how it works out.
