European Car Magazine - S600 articles

Surprised no one here mentioned these when they came out. Pablo is(was?) even a member here, tho I've only seen him post once years ago.

Interesting progression. Methinks that OS Giken diff is ohso certainly on the to-do list heh heh.

Big skip on the grille tho (esp w/ the redundant hood star remaining) - blech - too ghettopimp IMNSHO... and I'm not (personally) feeling the wheels really - tho I do like their weight / footprint.

Funny part is, I'd literally read the 1st installment and not a day later Brucifer heaves one of these for me out of thin air - total coincidence - weird.

Read the full project series here:

Thumbs up

Nice experiment.
Baseline dyno 470 whp, proved S600's power, from where a solid base for modify.

So want the OS Giken diff too, 80W-250, that's something.

Brakes are still stock though.

yeah, 470whp demonstrates the major sandbaggage MB pulled soas to not step on their AMG toes of the 55 IMO... some good stock heft certainly

amen on the brakes @ that point - I'm less and less enamored w/ making this car more powerful (last thing in the frickin world it needs) and more and more intrigued w/ making it 'better' (a/k/a brakes, intercoolers, exhaust, etc.)

I soooooooooooooo wannnnnnnnnnnt that REAR DIFF!!! Methinks mine will "start making some noise" @ some point in the future and will be Fidelity Claimed (muwhahahahaaaa, pardone)... JUUUUUUUUUST what the good dokktah ordered!

Don't feel anyway man, the 220 forum takes some time to catch up... I just posted the results of my strutmasters struts and am surprised I haven't gotten more inquiries although ppl say they want an alternative to oem.

If you build it, they will come seems to be trite at this point eh?

With its new look, diet and performance mods, the car pulls like a freight train. MAF readings now top 65 lb/hr (~650 hp) at wide-open throttle, assuring us Renntech’s power claims aren’t exaggerated.

How accurate is that measurement?

so every 1lb=10hp on the MAF?

Yeah, this is the first time I see such an assumption which convert intake air amount to engine output power/BHP.
It makes sence to me as the more air/fuel burned the more power the engine generates.

A side notes, to be accurate: there is no MAF in M275 engine (2003- S600), ECU uses 4 air pressure sensors and 1 temperature sensor to calculate intake air then match fuel to it.

Thanks.

Howard
