03' S430 check engine light on after engine starting problem.

Dear.

I have problem on my S430. When I put a key and turned it to start engine, engine was repeatly cranked and stopped.

crank -> crank -> crank -> increased rpm for less one second -> engine stop.

That symptom consisted more than 8 times.. and then the engine suddenly started on. After engine start, check engine light turned on..

What is problem on my S430?

Year: 2003
Grade: S430 base
Mileage: around 70,000 mile

The engine oil was recently replaced with Mobile one. Yesterday, I cleaned both engine air filters (K&N) and re-installed them.

Stop working again..

Watch video on engine problem. May old battery cause this problem? (70,000 mile but no battery replacement..)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2VP_...ature=youtu.be

Thanks in advance..

Best regards

Happened to me several times today, you have to replace the crank position sensor. Only way the car will start is when it cools off under the 80*c on the temp gauge left of the fuel gauge. this part is easy to change use the search there is more info there

@avo2last, if the gas cap isn't seated properly or if the seals on the cap are worn it will throw the CEL. Also, you could replace your CPS and try cleaning your Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF) with some CRC Mass Air Flow Cleaner. BTW, you don't need to add gas treatment each time you put gas in the car.

Hornet99 I agree with O2S40 on the CPS. They are relatively inexpensive and easy to replace.
