Prospective W220 owner.. What to look for?
Hello all,
I have recently been bitten by a certain desire to own one of these vehicles. Although I have never been a fan of them, there is one that converted me and has made me want to buy one. Perhaps it is a coming of age or other factors in my life; I am tired of the selfish sports cars that I drive on a day to day basis.
Here is the S600 I came across online that has shown me potential (I realize it is too low for most people, but different strokes for different folks..)
And this is my '06 Cayman S that is pending sale to fund the W220.
In any case, I realize these have quite a bit of maintenance costs to keep up with, which is fine. However, I would like to keep myself informed in regards to major things I should look out for when buying one.
I am leaning towards an '03 S600 with 85k miles. I do not know what major expenses or things should be looked at and things that should have been replaced at that point.
I am also curious how you guys lower these.. I've come across lowering links, but do not know the limitations of the stock Airmatic system.

I would stay away from 03, if you are set on w220 specialy v12 go for 04 and up.
It will be hard to find something that was maintained propperly and had all the work done the way it should to give yo worry free car at that milage.
