Can't play copy version of navtech disk...
It seems like everyone can play copy (burn) version of navtech disk except my car. Can someone tell me why this is the case? I have a 2000 S430. The copy disk is valid because it plays in my friends car.. Thanks

ok, this may fix it, ask your MB center to check to see if it got the firmware update, most cars have gotten it because its a service campaign they do to all cars, they have access to your VMI, give them your VIN.

LOL. Dealers never just do a COMAND firmware update as part of routine campaigns, unless you complain of symptoms that the updates fix. And even then they give you a hard time and tell you they never heard of any updates.

I had the same problem and this fixed mine. Disconnect the battery terminal and wait for 1 minute. Then reconnect it and reset the stereo code numbers. You may also want to spray some compressed air into the slot to clear out any dust. Good luck

stereo code
The stereo code should be included together with the owner's manual. You should find a credit card sized card with the stereo code printed on it. Your friendly neighborhood MB dealership should also be able to provide it to you. Good luck

Radio code
If you dont have a radeo code, then you don't have to worry about it then. They probably they took that feature out because too many customers were calling the dealership for the radio code especially since MB is now owned by Chrysler. I hope they gave you the Bose system instead of the AC Delco. In anycase, follow the instructions and hopefully that resets the radio. Good luck

............I agree completely. Had the same argument with RBM of Atlanta. They were stupified. Had no clue what I was talking about and I the end, I did not get the firm update.
