Help with grandma's s430 (pump+locks)
Hello everyone,
I'm a VW enthusiast so this is my first encounter with anything Mercedes. My grandma has a 2004 S430 and the locks, trunk and "door soft close" don't work. She took it to a stealership and they were a disaster to say the least. Finally got them to diagnose the problem as a burned out pump due to a leak in one of the vacuum lines. So being fairly handy with my volkswagen, I figured that was a piece of cake. I ordered a new pump, and installed it earlier today. The leak in the line I found was a slit fairly close to where the pump is located. I cut it out and repaired the line (will be replacing the whole line, just wanted to test things first) and plugged everything back in. I tried to lock and unlock the doors and to my dismay, nothing happens. The pump runs and cycles off with no change in the door locks (trunk release and soft close do not work either). I checked the fuse (pulled and examined) under the seat (20amp one) and all good there. The brand new pump is running when it is suppose to but things still aren't working. Could there be another leak somewhere (and if so, how do I find it)? Or is there some sort of reset procedure I need to perform?
