(solved) How to change spark plugs easy on W220
Thought I should share my experience in changing spark plugs in a S430 (spark plugs are usualy not hard to change but in a thight V8 with 16 plugs it takes some effort).
Its realy a hell to change sparkplugs in a S430 until you figure out the method.
1. take away all the standard things like engine air filter, and plastics.
Here comes the important parts..
2. take away the unit right above the sparkplug by disconnect the connector and use a torx to unscrew it from the engineblock.
3. Use a 17mm open end wrench to be able to pry of the sparkplugg cap, by set the gap of the wrench at the neck of the sparkplugg and pry by using the top edge of the valve cover as support.
4. Use the smallest ratchet in following constalation: sparkplugg sleeve, torx that fit in the hole of the sparkplugg sleeve, 10mm sleeve that fits the torx, and directly a turn joint plugged in the 10mm sleeve and then extender (6cm) and then the ratchet.
It took a while to figure out a nice way.
The only hard part is now to put back the sparkplugg caps because its hard to know if they are realy in place if you only replace them by hand.. . any good ways to do that by any tool?
