Loss of power steering issue
Greetings all...
I somehow have lost power steering in my 2000 s430 with 143k on the clock. No warning, nothing. It is as stiff to turn like none other, but above say, 25mph it seems to respond okay and I had to fight the car at low speed just to turn into the parking lot. Last night I even added power steering fluid that I had left over and this morning there was a puddle of fluid on the passenger side of the engine, and the car made a low moaning noise when trying to turn, but still no power steering. The car is in the garage now needless to say! I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had this happen, but my guess is maybe a P/S pump, rack and pinion?
