Bi Xenon Autolevelling Problems
Hi all
Got my self a new set of Bi Xenon headlights OEM from AL, and it seems like they wount adjust by Autolevelling them self all the times!!
Sometimes when i turn the lights on they adjust by quick going down und up, but the lights are totaly not right adjusted and the quick down and up is not going correct because sometimes it happends and sometimes it dosen't!! I see that the head lights have 2 small place where i can adjust the headlights with a screwdriver! Must i first adjust the headlights properly AND after this they will adjust them self all the times in the correct position?
My car has ABC suspension system!
Does anyone have an explanation??
Hope someone can help
Regards

...only it dosen't work like it should do!!
On my old hedlights the autolevelling was always right and as soon as i switched on the lights the lights go quick up and down and i always had perfect light position, never to high or low!! These new one's go up and down when i switch on lights but not all the times!!
ABC Suspension system lower/rises the car at diffrent speeds so light must always be in the correct position with the car!!
I don't know, it can be that not all W220 with ABC/Airmatic have Autolevelling!! but it's strange because the light must go with the car height and position so normally they should all have this system. Especially with ABC!
@benzmods
It could be but where?? which harness!!! that's the question!

Hello xxx.
ABC is not very common in a S500.
I think you are simply wrong about your suspension type, you have Airmatic installed and but you have bought the headlights for ABC equipped cars.
Cheers, Frank

My 2001 s500 came with ABC and AutoLeveling HeadLamps. ABC was an Option on the W220 with the Sport pkg.(standard on s55 and s600).

Well his other car has aftermarket headlights too, so I am trying to tell him they are probably the same bi-xenon I have which have an auto-leveling feature built in, but it doesn't use the connector the car uses for auto-level it's just probably a basic system that is powered by the headlight's house power.

Anyway, i got an email from the store from where i bought the headlights..The guy confirmed that with the serial number of these headlights and the serial number of the car they defenetly have, Autolevelling little engines built in system! So that's cool already!
Then we wrote that the headlights need to get restarted to a zero point before accesing via sam the lights and correct them properly, after that the lights will always find the correct position on the street!! Let's see then what 's gonna happend next.
Well that's what i'm gonna do next and try if i get sorted out with this issue..Otherwise i'm gonna try putting my old control unit (if it fits) to these new ones!! as they are from the same brand MAYBE it could work out!
Gonna update on what's happend next..First of all i'm gonna take of the headlights and see if everything is correct fitted,, connectors, plugs, control unit and so on..
