Rear flex disc-driveshaft removal?

Does anyone know how the drive shaft is removed for the rear flex disc replacement? I didn't feel like dropping the exhaust and heat shield to find out but it looks like there's a coupler or carrier bearing in there but wanted some heads up before I get in there. Thanks.

Right but isn't the rear part of the driveshaft that goes into the flex disc a fixed length? The front half moves about 1-1.5" aft to slide the disc on and off, the rear did not appear to move when I had the disc unbolted from the differential. Thoughts?

Hmm, I've not actually replaced a rear flex disk, so I'm not sure if there is any reason why you couldn't just pull the flex disk straight down. If there is, you can try unbolting the carrier bearing. Worst case, you may have to pull the whole driveshaft out, which is a pain, but not terribly difficult.
