I love my S2000. It is better built than my '03 E Class. There have been S2000s that have survived some horrific crashes and the occupants have been well protected.
It's a pretty uncompromising car, however. You have to enjoy shifting - it's noisy. It rides very firmly. The handling and responsiveness are incredible.
You can pick up a used '01 for low-mid 20s now...

Hi, OK I found out the 2001 325cic w/ 5K for only 23000 has a rebuilt title and stuff.. not something i wanna mess around with.. or should I? He wants like 19,000$ for it he says and admits there are still things that need to get done to it by the dealer, but it runs perfect and it has all the electronics working. I love that car! Silver, with the white corners and tailamps due to the sport package. What do you think? If not then, I NEED something safe and luxurious. But it can't look expensive or flashy at all. It has to be a face in the crowd of college freshmen, cuz when kids see a kid driving a nice car, they get intimidated and will make a judgement, always!. The price range i'm looking at is 15K-25K, it also has to have under 20K miles and still have at least 1 year left factory warranty.

I would definitely avoid a totalled car. If you want some luxury without being too in-your-face how about a Lexus ES300? You can get a MY 2000 for right around 20K I'm sure.
Will be far less expensive to own than a used BMW.
I'd even consider a used Subaru WRX. Fun as he!! and very practical.
Used S2000 00/01 or used 911 if you want to get your sports car groove on...
Good Luck!
sorry... I just re-read your post and I made some suggestions that wouldn't work... The 911 would clearly be out of warranty...
I've always admired the Audi S4, but it is going to be out of your price limit...

You're in college and driving all those cars? My word, you are one lucky sod. Perhaps your parents paid for the cars, or you are a young business-boy, but believe you me, don't get a bimmer. Anyone driving a bimmer looks like an a$$hole... Therefore, might I suggest you buy something a bit more mundane, to prevent any vandalism to it. For you, a MINI Cooper S would be better, or something similair.

Not sure how much you guys are into engine swapping but I heard of a guy who put an S2000 motor in a civic. No one believed him and I wouldnt know but he pics and said he was going to be Montreal at a show with it.

Re: swapping
Why would anyone in the world do this? Why not just put a Corvette engine, or better yet, a rocket engine in the civic? Hell... if you're going to go through the trouble, make it worthwhile.

I agree, but i guess he was keeping it Honda. Could a vette engine fit? I don't know much tech stuff, just have a couple friends who are into it. Also, anybody I've heard of doing swaps for hondas or integras usually use Honda stuff. For instance my one buddy put a JDM Integra Type R motor in his 93 civic hatch. It goes very fast for an all motor civic. Others may have much to say to me about faster cars or better swaps but his seems to surprise many. Mid to high 13s I think he runs without slicks. Again I just hear what they talk about....me....I like Benzos.

also
Also, my other friend wants to or is currently putting an H22 in his 94 civic hatch. He also has Tienne (sp) suspension or something that is pretty cool for no tip turning. He's all secretive about that stuff though and won't even tell us what he's doing. Mostly with his 94 Luder though he says he is dumping 15-20K CDN into. Who knows. His Lude has been AWOL for 1 year or so, so mabye he's serious. We will see.
Again, if some of this makes no sense its cuz I don't pay attention to their honda track days much.

target you idiot bimmer drivers arent a$$holes and Mini Cooper is made by BMW. its funny how you can judge bimmer drivers when people with benz's probably own bimmers and vice versa. before you start sayin all this, think about it first!!

Have to call on the S2000 engine in a Civic. F20c motor is for RWD - not a transverse setup like the Prelude, ITR, etc.
I have more fun in my Honda than in my Benz, even though the E is much more comfy on a long drive...
Here's me in my "deathwish" at Pacific Raceways... :p

vw2envy, bimmer drivers LOOK like a$$holes, and that MINI is made by BMW doesn't mean that MINI drivers also drive around with their arms out of their windows and cutting people up; whilst trying to look like they're the shiz. So Its the drivers I'm referring to as well.
Now, why would someone buy a bimmer and a merc...for the status it brings; 'look at me I drive, i'm driving a big fat german sausage'...that's the message.

what the hell are you talking about?? I see too many people in benz's cutting people off in CLK's and S-Class's. I love benz's as much as Bimmer's but alot of people on here are hating on bimmer's cuz they know that bimmer's are better and you know im right.

hell yeah i would take the 745Li over the S500!!!!!! I dont know how it is in your state but here in Jersey everyone has it and it is soooo played out and i know alot of people in jersey have the 745 but i dont really see to many. Since i have both i think the 745 is much better than the s500. I had one problem with my 745Li and that was that the computer (i-Drive) messed up and we got another computer within 2 days. with the S500 we had a couple of problems but thats my dads car so i dont really know what they were. The only one that i know of was the airmatic messed up but we got it back and its perfect.
