selling s, getting new car
I have to get rid of the car now that im goin to college, i am thinking 3-series with low miles 2000+ up. I found a 325Ci Conv. with 5,000 miles for 23,000. I am really interested in that one. Anything else I should consider, i am really bored by the s-class. under 23,000 is my target.

honda si i bet is a nice car, but thats quite a self-inflicted shotgun blast to the skull, trading s-class for civic, not many people in history have done such a thing.
bmw 3-series 2000+ plus, especially the ci's with the performance ground effects are stylish and sporty and is more for my age vs. s-class.
also, i want to be alive after hitting a guard rail or speed limit sign.

no scion either, a respectable car that's all, without too much flashiness. and a car that won't cripple me in any accident. and sporty and young. i'll prolly get the 2005 slk when it comes out but for now im thinking about that 3-series

2000 S-Class
How's about an 2000+ Audi S4. You get all wheel drive with a twin turbo V-6 250 hp engine that you can modify and get around 305 hp just by adding a chip. With exhaust, you are around 320hp.
I had an S4 but sold it for my S-430. Loved that car but didn't want to commute in it in traffic.

that'd be like the kind of car for me, but too much money, 23,000 for a 2001 3-series convertible with 5000 miles seems to be my main deal right now. the price and mileage is great! I dont want to go above that price for a car, i need some money to play around with in college, then one day, i'll be back but on the SL500 forums

Apricotscrub, given your unfortunate history of accidents, may I suggest a hardtop?
But you're right, an s-class in college would put a lot of people off. Try the Honda S2000 if you want to fight off the girls.

i'll take a look at the s2000, maybe.. but thats convertible rag top too... i always considered the s2000 a pos cuz its a honda, but car and driver rated it #1 out of all the current roadsters.. and honda are reliable, i dont know how safe it will be in that tiny car, its not as well made as the slk.
i'll give it look though... i see the prices are around 27K for a good newer one with low miles, these stay in the upper 20K range even as the years go down, they are good retainers of value. What do you think 2001 BMW 325Ci Convertible silver, or 2000-20001 S2000? And whats safer? Sexier? more modest(S2000 is right?)?

thanks for the offer, but i'd go with 325 over is300, i personally don't like the look of japanese cars, the designs are too much stylish in a way, but make me scared when i think what happens if i hit something accidentally.

Get a used Tahoe or Yukon...ultimate truck for school. You can fit many, many sorority girls in the back.
Think.

i dont like trucks that much since I will flip them over.
They are big and too tall, its not as simple to drive as a sedan or coupe imo.
even if i could fit alot of sorority girls in the truck, doenst mean a smaller car cant fit at least 3 passengers, although a 2-seater would probably be best since i usually dont "run up wit mad hoes up in da grille"
i should prolly just get a minivan, those are safe and cheap, and not too arrogant.

i checked the ratings for both cars, they are identical safety ratings, i dont really believe what they have to say though, cuz i know if im in a s-class, i wont get hurt, but i'll end up killing everyone else involved. now, they won't say that, they wont say if ur in a civic and u hit like a squirrel your car will implode and your head wll get impaled on the euro-style shift knob.
i guess i gotta take a risk with the bimmer.

man dont get rid of your car for a 3 series bimmer unless its an M3 then you could do that because its only a 430. otherwise you shouldnt even do it. maybe you should get a 5 series instead. thats jus my opinion

Why is the wood on your steering wheel a different color than the rest of the wood inside the car? That doesn't look too good with the different wood IMHO. I am assuming you got the wood steering wheel as a non factory option?

i cant afford 5-series, i want some dough left over, and i gotta have a college kid car, not a supermarket owner's car.
the steering is chestnut, mb doesnt make calyptus wood steering cuz calyptus will splinter on collision. so i had to get the factory chestnut one.
