Strange sound
I did some research and think it could be motor mounts tranny mounts that is causing the vibrating but i want to know what the forum think. This is what i done since i had car;
Lower control arm dr side
Arnott strut
Ac compressor
Idle pully
Flex belt
Previous owner right side lower control arm
Arnott strutt
Thanks guys
Did you notice some colorless dripping under the car? The engine mounts filled with some liquid and troubles usually begin when it leaks.
There two mounts supporting the engine an one back under the tranny, the latter usually not causing any trouble.
When my mounts failed, I heard a deep grwoling noise mostly around 1500-2000 rpm

After further review and some serious searching I realized that it would probably be more feasible for me to replace the lower control arms on both sides since they come with the ball joints and bushings already intact. Seems to me that this would be a much easier and quicker job - should cost significantly less.
I have a 2003 S500 with Active Body Control. Has anyone attempted this a a DIY, also, what brand of control arms would you recommend. I have seen prices for Dorman, Moog, Beck Arnley, and Lemfoeder. However, I must admit that the Lemfoerder parts look totally different than the others. Don't even know if they are the right part but they keep popping up.
Any experience and/or suggestions?

The ball joints oem only cost less than 30$ each. So 940 for labor is crazy. Even 440 sounds better but still make sure you get oem parts. Mymercedesparts.com is where i get my parts. You will save a bundle on parts there. I paid 510 for my control arm the lowest i found else where was 780. The stealer wanted 980 for same part. Good luck.
