Hi, i was asking myselft what difference of fuel ( octane) can result on the engine of a mercedes or any other car, in my town there is a plenty of different Gasoline Grades Available as regular 87 octance , mid-grade 89 octane, premium 91 octane,super premium 94 octane ,,,, if i use regular would it dammage the engine ? for instance on a s500 02

it will not damage the engine.
all modern cars have knock sensors, and will retard timing if detonation is sensed. So youll get less power under hard acceleration, and perhaps worse fuel economy using a lower octane than the 91 the car is designed for.
using 94 will provide you no benefit and just waste money. 94 is only needed if your car is "tuned" or has the computer chip altered from factory settings to increase power.
