Trunk won't open

The trunk is closed and the mechanical key won't work. The electric release in the door doesn't work. Can anyone tell me where the fuse for the electric trunk release is located?

I've looked in the 2 fuse boxes under the hood and all fuses seem OK.

If the fuse is located in the box under the rear seat how does one remove the rear seat bottom? Is it like most rear seat bottoms that release by pulling on the bottom?

All help greatly appreciated.

hi,
is there not a panel in the rear near where your lower leg would be if sitting down?

Yes there is panel at the rear passenger seat fron side. No need to lift the seat.

On my 2003 S430, the fuses are behind the light under the passenger side of the rear seat - just behind where your heels would be. Just pop the light panel out to find the fuses - no tools required.
