S430 Audio Issues - Audio Gateway Advice sought
Hello All- having some Audio headaches with my '05 S430.
A Indy shop I had inspect my car pre-purchase advised that the Radio was inoperative, and that likely it needed an AMP.
I came out to the Forum, and checked another site and everything seemed to mesh.
Fast Forward, numerous unforeseen issues caused me to delay installing an AMP (part A2208273042) I sourced online. My battery kept dying after leaving my car parked a few days and my local Indy traced it to a bad Audio Gateway drawing power when the car appeared asleep.
(I'm now stuck with an AMP I likely do not need). They've advised me to purchase the AGW A2208701889 now.
My question is this - does it make more sense to purchase the Denison Audio Gateway for Ipod integration ($500 est), since I had planned to do this eventually anyway. Or am I mistaken and the car needs both to properly work? Or would it be recommended to get the manufacturer gateway first to insure this is actually the problem?
Called a Audio place that specializes in Mercedes, but they gave me a stock response of "unless you bring it in and have us (i.e pay us) review and install the AGW then we cant tell"
Hoping others have useful advise on this subject.

Just found my answer - mistakenly had pulled up the wrong pics/info. Going back to Skylaw's S-Class thread on Audio helped me realize I need both (great thread FYI!).
