New purchase question
I have owned a lot of different cars and know most all cars have their little issues here and there but I am looking into making my first MB purchase, after owning 3 diff BMWs and multiple Japanses Lux. Lines I am looking for a change
I have been reading through the diff forums but still alittle stuck on what to look for in my purchase
I am looking to get either a S430/S500 but from what I collect I should stay away from the 99-02 range..... Is this correct?
What problems do the 99-02 have that don't exist in the 03-up range?
Also I am seeing a few diff opinions in the 100k and 120k service what is this all include?
Any advice would be much appreciated

These cars are loaded with electronics stuff so check if every button is working. CHECK FOR ANY CRACKS ON AIRMATIC STRUTS!!! Also check for any squeaks (ball joints). If you can, get it scan for codes. I've purchased mine (01 S500) with 94k miles and i now have 106k miles on it and the only repair i had to make was a new accelerator pedal module (less than $200 off ebay) and a new CD changer) and ball joints that i still have to repair (around $100 at dealership + $100 for labor). For $5600 in 2012 IMO it was a steal. The best car I've ever driven, but then again i'm only 21...
