Acceleration Issues 03' S600
Error code will direct you very close to the issue. Then members here could suggest you how to fix it, or is your repair proposal right.
Unfortunately regular OBDII reader won't help much, if it's free, better than nothing. You'd better have it hooked to MB STAR and get a code list or report.
Such a report will help you to address this issue and also as a health check. If you haven't hooked it up for a long time, better do it. Don't neglect an elegant car.
Thanks.

take it to an autozone or place than plug an obdii reader in. Perhaps there is something "pending".

When you turn the key on without starting the car the CEL should come on; in Canada it's an engine symbol.

I posted this weekend that I was having acceleration issues... well after taking my beast to the shop I was told that it was the drum assembly in the transmission that was falling apart. My car has 108,000 miles is this normal wear? Also, I was quoted 6g's for repair can anyone give me advice on a cheaper option? Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know there is a drum in this trany. Is it the torque converter ? I'd suggest:
- Still insist, for this case, go to dealer, read codes, seek for 2nd opinion;
- If the trany was done, try to find a used one, that will be much cheaper; George, one of the forum member, managed to get a used 722.6 for few hunderd bucks. S600 trany is a bit different though;
- Or, talk to a good trany shop for their idea.
Good luck.

Try to stick with OE/OEM. If you don't know the supplier, don't risk.
This part need lots of efforts to put in, you really don't want to do it twice.
