W220 alloy wheels issue
Hi guys
I have trouble with my aftermarket AMG alloy wheels on my W220 S class.
Wheels are 18 inch , 8.5J wide on front and 9.5J wide on rear. Offset on both is ET35.
First I had 245/45/18 tyres on front and 275/40/18 on the back. Front was fine, but rear ones were rubbing all over, specially during motorway driving.
Later I've changed the tyres for 245/40/18 on front and 255/35/18 on rear. Now ESP light is constantly on and cruise control is not working, but wheels don't rub at all. For some reason car thinks that rear is too low.
Has anyone have same size wheels? What tyre size you running? Is there any way to prevent rubbing on first set of wheels I had, like wheels specers etc? What you recommend?

Interestingly enough I have the same exact tire and wheel sizes. 245/45/18 front and 275/40/18 rear with OEM AMG wheels. The only problem I ever experienced was the Tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) would drive me crazy each time I started the car stating that my tire pressure needed to be checked. The dealer disconnected the system and no more problems or warnings since. I have no problem sticking my little $15 tire pressure gauge in the valve stem to check the tire pressure.

For your later setup: front profile was down from 45 to 40, don't know why, and it is not correct. Rear profile was down to 35 which is absoluted wrong.
I doubt your LOAD is enough for this heavy car.
You need a qualified tire shop to do your wheels. Tires and rims are most important parts regarding safety, make it right.

For your first setup: stock AMG is ET44, front tire is perfect, but your rear tire is bit wide and ET35 push it 9 mm outward, that's the rubbing from.

The only difference might make the wheels, as mine are AMG and the ones in chart are Brabus. But they exactly same size.
