Fuse Box Melted

So two months ago, my air would not come on. THe modlule would come on but no air or heat would blow. Since I was under warranty, I took it to the dealer and they repleaced the blower motor and the resistor under the hold. Two months later, I experienced the same issues however the dealer told me that the fuse box under the hood melted.

Has anyone else had this problem. What caused this to happen? I told them that it was probably the blower motor and resistor installation that caused this but the dealer would not go for that.

I am going to let an INDY shop do the work since they are charging me half of the $750 dealer price to do the work.

Did someone shortwired a burned fuse?

That is the sure way to burn the box (and sometimes worse, the whole car).

Heat in an automobile fuse box is almost always due to a high-resistance connection in the box, not an overload or short circuit. A short circuit that does not blow a fuse sually melts the wire harnesses. A poor connection, perhaps between the fuse and its socket, will generate heat at the point of resistance. That heat can cause corrosion that will increase the resistance. The increased resistance generates more heat, which causes more resistance, which generates more heat, which...
