2004 S430 Trunk problems
Fellow MB drivers,
I am new to the forum but I have done a bit of reading in the threads. I read the Trunk open problem thread and Im not sure if my trunk problems applies, so here i go:
my trunk wont open using the remote or from the trunk latch on the driver side door. I have tried to reset it by pressing and holding the latch for 20 seconds and that didnt work. I can still open it with the mechanical key. once I open it, I press the green open button and it opens.
I have to close manually, the red trunk close indicator light is not on...Im guessing no power to it. I also checked the hydraulic pump and it has fluid.
Im all out of ideas. MB of San Antonio says it will cost 1400 to fix trying to find a better solution. please help!!!! thanks

Do you have access to a Star Diagnostic System? If not, send me a PM as I live in San Antonio and might be able to help you locally. The absence of a red light under the trunk close button would suggest the circuit is not getting power. But without more detail, it's tough to tell.
