S600 conversion power steering pump

Hi, converted my 2004 s600 suspension to strutmasters.

Need to replace the abc pump, what non-abc power steering pumps can be used?

I just converted my car to strutmasters also

Hey,

I just converted my car also. I was curious what the status of your ABC system was? Mine reportedly had a bad pump and hose replacement. Once I got it out of the dealers shop, I just bought the kti and converted it. Something happen while at the shop as the fluid resevoir exploded on the ABC side. So I replaced the resevoir and filled it back up with fluid. The other day, I was sitting and idling at a drive through and I heard a loud pressure explosion, and I saw fluid dripping out from the front drivers wheel well. I couldn't tell for sure, but there was some hose down there that must have exploded. I also noticed that the drivers side rear also had fluid explosion. None of the capped fittings were the source of the problem, it has to be a hose between the pump and the fittings.
The car still runs fine, the resevoir on the steering side is fine, it still has fluid. I'm just worried how long the pump can run like this.

I did do research, and from what I can tell you can get the pump from any s600 that has air suspension. They are all over ebay, you will just need the bracket, and maybe another hose if memory serves me correct.

I'm just of the mindset to figure out how to go ahead and remove all the ABC crap if possible now that the line exploded. I just now starting to think that my pump wasn't really bad afterall and I had an idiot at the dealer working on my car.

There aren't any - they all have ABC.

I think you mean any S430 or S500 with air suspension.

There are a bunch of these on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/WD-Express-161-33051-152-New-Power-Steering-Pump-/171048815962?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3AS600&hash=item27d34dcd5a&vxp=mtr
they show to fit s600 2003+.

I figured they all came with ABC, but thought maybe some did have air suspension, or maybe the v12TT thats in one of the other cars that has air suspension?

I'm not sure what to expect from my pump now. All the suspension fluid drained out of the reservoir, but it is a divided reservoir and the steering side is fine. I'm just thinking I could drive it like it is? I mean, if my pump will last like it is now, then I will wait to swap everything. changing that pump is a pain.....

Out of curiosity what did you think of the ride of the car? Personally it feels a little bumpy at times, but I was way impressed. I was expecting a car that was radically different, but my wife can't tell the difference, she loves it, but she isn't into cars...

The ebay listing is wrong, there are NO W220 or W221 S600's with airmatic. None. Everybody else on MBWorld knows this.

Very sorry to hear that. I've not idea what to suggest, but there are other people who have done the. Maybe they use the stock pump and connect the ABC ports in a loop, and use the PAS pump as normal. Alternatively use an S500 pump and make a new bracket?
