Pre-save Inactive. Malfuntioning
I have a 2004 S-430. Few weeks ago a bushing from the shift linkage broke. I towed the car to the mechanic. Put a new one. Car runs and shifts great, but now it has a malfunctioning sign on the display that reads "Pre-save inactive See oper. Manual ! " Also, noticed that outside temperature gauge on the cluster shows around 10 F more than the real outside temperature. Does anybody knows how I erase that sign ? Thank you

See post 14 at http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w220...ml#post2216730 and see if the reset procedure for Presafe works. Then bookmark the post. You may find it helpful during your ownership.
Also, the OAT sensor may have become displaced; if it is too close to the radiator, for instance, it could read in error. See past #2 at http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w220...k-29-12-a.html to check whether it is in its mount.

I did the reset procedure for Presafe, turning steering wheel completely to the left and then to the right, but it didn't work. Pre-save inactive warning still on

See post 14, http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w220...ml#post2216730 - Synchronizing ESP - If the BAS, ESP and (if you have it) ABS Lights are on, or if you have a Pre-Safe warning
Several malfunctions could keep the light on, especially a bad wheel speed or steering angle sensor.

Thanks Skylaw, I will check post 14 and inspect the steering angle sensor along with the wheel speed sensor. I will let you know if this solves the issue!

I'm having the following issues on my 2004 S500 (non-4matic & no ABC) after I replaced the busted air suspension on the front passenger location. The error are as follows.
- Pre-save inactive see owner's manual
-Malfunction ABS visit workshop
-Malfunction ESP visit workshop
Is there anyway that I can clear the following error without visiting the dealership?
thanks

First double check all your electrical connections where you did the work - often they get crud in them or are not fully reseated . We see this a lot !
Second do the reset procedure in the sticky thread that involved turning the steering wheel all the way left and right several times

tusabes gave you good advice - the two connectors ar the top/front of the wheel well are the most likely suspects. They can be difficult to insert correctly. Try plugging them in as a unit, not individually.

I replaced a bad wheel speed sensor and turning the steering wheel R to L, lock to lock, isn't clearing the warnings. I'm temped to unplug the battery for a bit to reset ECU but would prefer not to lose all my settings. I have "new to me" DAS that now beeps when I plug it in so not sure whats up with that. It reads everything as failing. Also have engine light on, in addition to pre-save and ABS and heaving steering issue.
I had a similar issue where i had ESP malfunction ! ABS malfunction ! as well as heavy steering wheel and limp mode (wont shift past 2nd gear). Replaced all wheels speed sensors, transmission control module, transmission conductor plate and ABS unit but the issue remained (due to a smartass mechanic who kept guessing), turned out to be my ESP control module N47-5 (located in driver's side fuse box) was faulty because some water seeped through incorrectly installed fuse box cover and fried the control unit. But the key in solving this issue is correct and precise diagnostic, you may have another faulty thing in your system, in my case i got a DTC C1000-002 which basically states "Control module 'N47-5 (ESP, Speed-sensitive Power steering (SPS/PML) and BAS control module) is faulty".
