SRS light on

My '03 S430 4Matic had the SRS light come on today. Is this an expensive fix? Is it something which demands immediate attention at shop or not?

Thank you.

This is a fairly common problem. Do a search for SRS Light and you'll get all your answers.
Cheers,
Jeff

sit in the passenger side seat and see if it goes away, then it the seat sensor.

Move the seat all the way foward and back and clean the seat belt. Sounds crazy but that's what I did and it never came back on

the seat belt buckle female end where the belt plugs in, if this doesnt work then more then likely its the passenger side seat sensor located where you sit on the seat. and cfc cleaner or electronics cleaner spray.

I was using mass airflow sensor cleaner, windex, , armor all, everything to clean the car. I bought it used and beaten and had to rebuild the it. when it was time to work on the interior, luckily nothing was worn or damaged. just dirt everywhere. So with qtips, rags, paper towels, everything I went to work. I had airmatic issues and the SRS light in the beginning along with a slew of other things but first I cleaned. When I moved the passenger seat around, Even slid the bottom part forward (cushion part ) all the way forward to wipe everything and used windex on every section of the set belt and to get inside of it I used MASS airflow cleaner since I had a nozzle that allowed me to spray everywhere inside of it, gave the set belt a coupe of pulls and when I started the car the light had went off. surprised the heck out of me and its been 9 months and hasn't come back on. I was about to order the bypass circuit for it. luckily wasn't needed.

Common SRS items are the driver's airbag connection and passenger seat weight detection and also the seat belt connector in the B piller. You will need to get it scanned.
