S500 Tail light problem

Just purchased a 2000 S500 and the driver side left tail light is not functioning at all. Passenger side is fine. Bulbs replaced. Any suggestions?

Seen others with issues on grounding, apparently the brown wire melts at the bulb holder, check carefully where the wires go into the taillight, on both sides. Hope it works. If all looks okay, try grounding from the bulb holder to the car body, next test for power on the offending light.

There are no fuses for the lights in the W220. They are electronically protected. Check the wiring if voltage is present

had a light go out, turned out to be the contacts needed a slight adjustment, they were intermittent. mechanic tweaked the contact to make full contact, all done. Bulb was still good.
