The keyless life
I started out w 2 keys and a keyless entry card when I purchased my 2002 S500. Since, one of the keys still opens and locks the doors but no ignition. I took it apart and noticed that the little chip was sitting at the bottom of the shell, off and disconnected. So, not liking the chances w only one key, I looked into what was the problem, and last resort went to the dealer , and im sure everyone know how those experiences usually turn out.
My quick question is, does anyone have an idea about 1. having the key i presently have, being fixed....other than the dealer, or 2..any company that is up on the software for mercedes yet as they are with other vehicles? Its justso hard to justify the 3-400$ for a key, but if anyone has any other choices out there that they have used, please share at your convenient time!
Thanks again!!!! Scot
Dealer is the only option for a new one
Dunno if a good electronics guy can solder the chip back on your current key and make it work, its worth a try !
