Noisy serpentine belt.
My mate has a c class 2.5 V6 and he has exactly the same problem !!
My S320 is also a V6 and the belt makes a swishy almost sqeaky kinda sound on tick over.
In the car lot I have noticed other V engined mercs doing the same.
Just wondered if any of you guys find the same.
The problem is other than this the engine is super smooth and quite.
Belt eaz sprayed on helps a lot but not for long.
Is a new belt the answer ??

I guess belt lost friction or pully going. If belt lost friction, with spray it gets worse. Spray cure noise but reduce friction.
Yes, change belt, if high mileage replace pullys and tensioner as well.

You may have a weak (failed) belt tensioner but not likely. Change the belt first and see if the noise goes away. While the belt is off, check the condition of the idler pulleys. It may well be that its a bad bearing on one of them. They too are easy to change out.
If you do need new idler pulleys, contact Shardul for aftermarket pulleys that are cheaper and better than the plastic ones.
