01 s600 v12 coolant type?

The fill bucket hose accidentally got caught in the fan causing a slice in the small hose. I'm replacing the hose but I cannot seem to find a solid answer on the specific type of coolant. I do not want to flush it as I had that done at the dealer as part of a purchase requirement. I need to know what kind I can buy at the auto parts store as mb isnt open at this time until Monday.

I am just topping it off, so I want to either get a premix or dilute it myself with some distilled water?

I seen only it says either zerex g-05 and another site says pentosin NF.

Can anyone give me a straight answer about just topping it off? I lost enough to make the check coolant level light come on and I am hoping to be able to drive the car tomorrow if I can get this fixed.

If I have to wait I'll just go to mb on Monday but id like to fix it tomorrow morning.

Thanks

the fluid in the tank is a clearish yellow color. I referenced the MB part number of "Q 1 03 0002" and it came back as a pentosin NF coolant. So i found it at the local orielly auto parts store but its a blue color, not the clear yellow.

I dont want to mix stuff that cant be mixed.

Im hoping to not flush it at this point.

if anyone knows, once the " Coolant - Check Level comes on, how much has it lost at that point? im curious to know if the coolant level sensor location is. I didnt see one in the tank so my guess its on the motor somewhere.

thanks for any help. Its odd that i cannot seem to find any proper info on this as all other cars i can find info anywhere.

Yes , same specs. In fact if your fluid is yellow you probably have g05 already in it

It's a clear with yellow tint.

I'm debating on just dumping the radiator fluid out and putting in new fluid.

If I do that, will the gravity to its thing to the block and naturally drain out or do I have to coax it out with a flush of some sort?

The exact coolant mixture is not really critical, so you could just add enough distilled water to extinguish the warning light, and drive the car today. Keep track of how much water you added.

If you can get the exact coolant at the dealership Monday (not the least expensive option!), then just completely refill the system with the concentrated coolant. If the amount of concentrated coolant that you add is close to the amount of water that you added, the final mixture will be close enough to 50/50.

Or, you can just refill the system with the G05 premix...

Just top it off , don't do a complete flush . More risk of a cooling system bubble and improper bleeding if you drain it completely , you said the coolant is still good

Either just add water or g05 to top it off, and be done with it.

That's what I did. I went to oreilly and got a gallon of zerex g05, mixed it 50/50 with distilled water. I used 1/2 gallon to get it back to where it is supposed to be.

It took longer to clean up the loss of all the fluid and stains of the dried coolant on the rest of the engine but it's all done now. Nice and shiny again.
