Climate Control Servo Module problem???

2000 S430. I'm still trying to fix my AC that occasionally decides to blow hot air on my passenger while blowing cold air on me. The error code is 1271, which basically says the BUS is not communicating with a stepper motor. (Just sometimes when it is most inconvenient). Since I can usually correct it by turning the dial on the center dashboard vent from auto to manual, wait a short time and then turn it back to auto, I'm pretty certain it has to be a problem with some sort of control module. I see on eBay many listings for the Climate Control servo module, all pretty cheap. Also see the control module that you use to adjust settings with the display for sale. I'm wondering if one of these might be my problem?? Does anyone have experience with this situation they would share with me? Also, does anyone know where the servo module is and how to get to it? Thanks in advance for help with this!
