Owww. Glad you're OK. You know, that _is_ kinda sad: many people spend lotsa $$$ every month for things like house alarms, medicine, etc, but having a flimsy car could make all of that moot.

How does the insurance handle a situation like that, where a car was just parked (obviously illegally) in the road?

Not in the middle of the road...propably they thought the car was on the side..still the left tires were on the wrong side of the lane. The reason why they were in the dark is a mystery..hope the police can find it out..I wasn´t overspeeding..because the overspeeeding fines are subject to your incomes in Finland so you can get big big fines if you have good incomes, like we S-class owners usually have.
For example if you´ve got 10000 euros salary/month.. the fine for 30 km/h overspeeding can be 8000 euros..while a common worker can get 500 euros fine..figure that out!

Horrible accident..I have had troubles to sleep at nights after the accident..hope I don´t have to experience this again..ever!

Glad to hear that you made it out of the accident ok. Very sorry about the car. I'm curious, it looks like the right front took the brunt of the hit, how many airbags deployed inside the car.

Hope you are okay! It takes a while to recover from the trauma suffered as a result of an accident. Try to get some support from friends and family members. Talk to them about what you remember from the accident. It will make you feel much better as you have shared it.

Damn the Mercedes S-Class is as secure as it looks. I thought there must have been a reason for its barge size and weight.
