gas guage problems anyone?

gas guage problems anyone?
Anyone here have gas guage problems? Today, when I was driving the S5, after filling up and driving down the road, the guage went dead, the console display didn't have information for the gas anymore (miles left, etc) -- just all dotted lines where the numbers should have been.
after hitting a bump, it came back on. I thought this was very strange...anyone else have something similar? This is the first problem we have on our car, besides the common wiper blade chatters.

It's only happened once, but I will make note of it at next service. No sense in going in for only this problem when it's working fine now.
