S500 4matic
Airmatic problems continue

I have a 03 S500 4matic that is having some airmatic problems. All the struts are ok. Hoses and compressor all checked ok as well as the fuses. The problem was traced to a bad valve block. I replaced the block with a used one that tested good. Car did fine and is at correct height but the AIRMATIC VISIT WORKSHOP message has re appeared after driving the car for awhile but the car stays at level on all sides. I have read all the posts on the airmatic but am still baffled. Help

instead of guessing here, find someone with star and have the codes read.

The computer monitors quite a few factors in the Airmatic system. This includes things like the time required for the pump to increase the pressure a specified amount, maximum pressure achieved, etc., etc.

As Quadcammer says, the next step is to have someone with DAS read the codes and run the system tests on the Airmatic system.

If the pump is weak, you can buy a replacement piston seal for about $25. Relatively easy installation, and will often restore pump effectiveness.

Some info on the piston seal...

Pretty simple fix. While doing mine, I discovered that the air filter was missing, so I added an inline filter as well.
