s500 wheels

Does any one know if it is normal for this setup to rub: 2000 s500 with 19" Lorinser wheels and Dunlop sport 9000 245/40/19 front and 275/35/19 rear. I have noticed some rubbing sound when i take a sharp turn or when i go over a bump. Do i need to adjust anything?

The Lorinser LM-5 wheel is poorly designed. I believe you are rubbing on the right rear wheel? It should be rubbing on the inside of the wheelwell. You need to have that part of the wheelwell shaved down to allow for clearance. I have seen people use dremels to take off a few mm.

You are absolutely correct, it rubs on the right rear wheel. I will take the car to shop and have them checkout the wheelwell. Thanks for the info

yea from reading posts on this forum i recall hearing about some of the first s classes having an issue with the right wheel well which would cause a problem with the tire rubbing. all you need to do is have it shaved down a little and you're set. luckily i didn't incur that problem? not sure why. anyway, best of luck to you.
