Cooling fan problem and ac venting at high pressure
S320cdi 2005. I have the coolant visit workshop notice popping up on the dash. My radiator fan is not coming on at all. When I switch the ac on it gets hot quickly and the av vents on from emergency blow off valve in the compressor. The car does not over heat although of is very cold here around 1 degree celcius at the moment. The the coolant warning comes on even when the temperature is at 50 degrees . the coolant is fine and the levels are spot on. The system is not highly pressurised so the cooling system seems to be as it should . I have the new style fan with the 4 pin plug and module built into the fan case.
I am a bit baffled as to what is going on. The fault code reads radiator suction fan fault. After reading this forum I am not convinced it is the fan that is faulty. I have checked the fuses on the right side front fuse box under windscreen and all relays and fuses seem to be ok .
I have read the function of the fan on the link supplied this forum.
I am suspecting a faulty coolant temperature sensor! Or the module and fan which is an expensive fix.
How do I test the voltage going to the fan as the module seems to be part of the fan.
Any help would be appreciated
