if it's a 2005 model, pics probably in a few months on MBUSA i'm guessing or circulating around the internet, as with the C55 and SLK55 new interiors now.

For years now it seems the best source of this stuff it MBSpy's page:

http://mbspy.bacosys.be

There is some really good data on the upcoming 221 release here:

I can't imagine that the new interior will look anything like that. At least I'm hoping that it won't.

"The six-speed automatic transmission is operated by a lever on the steering wheel."

For the love of....why!?! Why would MB put the tranny stick on the steering column???

You know what...I never thought of that...so either they are going to 6 speed for the S or that article is from way back...but that interior shot was all finished up, which makes u think now...I heard that the CLS was getting the six speed auto, so maybe...

While some/most hate the new look, it may not turn out to be as bad as it looks...pics don't really do it justice. Usually it turns out to be nicer up close when you can see it for yourself and most of the time, those pics change when production starts...so we'll see.

Tho definately agree, MB has made some major changes. Maybe its a good thing....electronics may be more stable now instead of quirks, etc. Who knows.

MB did say they were going to get real serious about quality I thought, so maybe we will see it in the w221

Yep, my thoughts exactly. So this could be the beginning of MB coming back up to rank ...they have been hearing the bad news for a few years now about quality and when '05 rolls around, they'll woulda had about 5 years to improve on quality and they want to stun the world with the new S, hopefully,

Also, look at Lexus (not bashing on them, please no flames), but they take a little bit from what everyone has and improves on them. Looked how they turned out, right?

MB could be learning to adapt their own pioneered systems with something similar from other people and improving on it to make it even better, MB style, lol.

Lots of people didn't like the styling of the C-Coupe when it came out, people were like, "what, a MB coupe!?! Are they crazy?" and it's been a pretty good success...so could turn out to be good afterall, IMO.

I actually like the shot of the front end of that w221. The back is ok but it looks too short to be a S class
