My 2003 has an aux cable input in the glove box. I think 2003 is the only year that came with this feature. If you look in your glove box on the left you will see where the aux cable goes. I use it for my Ipod. However, it does not allow you to use the steering wheel controls and it will not show what songs are playing in the command.

Bob, you are correct. My car does not have a tape deck. Truth be told, I never knew the plug was there until I was changing the filters under the glove box. Thought it was a screw until I realized it was for some type of connection. I decided to test it and realized it was live. Went to BestBuy, bought the cable you see and plugged in my IPOD. The IPOD works from the AUX menu in the Command unit.

Even though you have a 2003 S500, you might not have stock command. See if you can get the LCD screen to move down, it will reveal a tape slot. If so, you can get a tape to AUX adapter. I have an iPod cycling through my music, and it has a portable power bank attached to it, which is charged from the car. All self contained inside the glove box. Too bad I can't switch songs without reaching over and opening the glove box.
